I hear ya, that's why I'm looking to see what mods they're up to, just found the torque curve to be funky. Guess I'm spoiled from only seeing our 370Z curves, like the ones below.

Not that it would make too much difference, but comparing the Genesis on the same dyno as a VQ37VHR would be a little more fair to make sure the problem wasn't with the dyno.

Looks much better in that comparison, in fact, for a minute I thought the genesis torque line was the G37's.

Probaby some wheel slip on the rollers is all...

I wonder what throttle response is like under 3k with the Genesis, and I wonder if the conservative response with our VQ37 is because of MPG reasons (besides shredding tires).

The 370z is a beast by comparison. A whole different breed.
This car is better compared with the g35/g37 in performance n handling.

^^ Agreed. No point in comparing the gencoupe to the z. The gencoupe is a VERY nice car. Fast, luxurious, affordable, loaded, etc. If i was in the mkt for a g37, i would definitely consider the GC.

my neighbor, who has had a hyundai elantra for about the past 7 years, traded it in for a 3.8 gen coupe. Brought it over to my house and i was quite impressed with the interior..color combo was gray exterior with the brown leather interior. the interior was very nice, fully loaded with everything. So i take it out on a drive and the exhaust note is beautiful but the gearbox was crap. i got on it a little bit and noticed the torque flattens out wwaayyyyyy too soon on that car. Felt worse then my Mazdaspeed 3 when i lose boost. Overall its a great cruiser but not nearly as much "umph" as the 370 i test drove but does have the quality interior in my opinion. Body looks great especially the rear but the front.........typical hyundai lol

At our facility, Genesis made roughly around mid 250 whp and ~250tq.
It sounds great and it looks good too.

Gotta agree with u there the genesis is strong from 0 to about 80ish. Then falls off
Higher than 80 it drives like any other car. Its a true sports car in many attributes
But falls a lil short on torque. Its not as flat as it looks on the dyno.
But cars like this might possibly catch a second breath over 100mph?
I dunno if its the case with The genesis.
I know my altima smooths out at around 90-95ish but catches a
Second breath around 110 or so... lol which is a lil scary the 1st time it happens
Cuz its like it suddenly revs hard n gets to 127ish really really fast.... lol

Now there's a turbo for it. Saw a vid on you tube. 503hp. It was very impressive.

They got a turbo already.. WTF when will we get our turbos damn it.. GTM has been saying 2-3 weeks for 2-3 months now!! :mad:

If the GC gets fitted with the sedan's 375 HP V8 I may just do a trade!
