Default Curious sound from the transmission??

Have you noticed?? If you drive a MT, while the car is idling, there is a low frequency continuous sound that's present which disappears when the clutch is engaged (?? from the transmission). It's very slight so you have to pay attention to hear it.

My local mechanic said it's likely a bearing going bad in the transmission that may cause big issues if not attended to... I then spoke to a certified Nissan mechanic at one of the dealers and he said it's a normal sound due to the high performance nature of the transmission/engine...

Does any of you have any experience with this? please share.

thx

No, it's not from transmission. It's the clutch chatter. I have this. A lot of MT folks(almost all) have this too. It's been discussed several times before and it's normal. No worries.

It is indeed the throwout bearing. It's not going bad- that's just how it sounds.
