Clutch Adjustment - Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki simply loosen the locknut behind the fork. then turn the rod counter clockwise (you are "screwing the rod into the fork". for me it took about 3 1/2 turns. CCW to engage earlier, CW to engage later (further up). then re-tighten the lock nut (12mm), and test drive. the gas pedal was fabricated out of thin aluminum sheet metal. i used 3/4" blocks of wood underneath the aluminum sheet to raise the pedal height. drill one hole on top and one on bottom of the sheet of aluminum (with wood blocks underneath acting as spacers) and bolt it to the existing gas pedal. use counter-sink screws to have the head of the screws flush with the surface. the brake and clutch pedals were from an aftermarket kit (dont remember the name). it's been on my subaru for years, and my 240sx before that. |

Is that locknut pretty tough to loosen? I was putting some pretty good force on it and it wouldn't budge. Also, it seemed like that pin/bracket was strting to flex and I didn't want to force anything.

only thing you have to be careful with in adjusting the clutch pedal is overstroking the master and slave if you push it to the floor.

i did this. confused me a bit. All it really did was make the clutch peddle throw shorter. So it FEELS like its engaging earlier, but im 99% sure its not. Instead of a really long almost truck like OEM clutch throw it shortens it up by quite a bit. On the plus side regardless of if its actually changing clutch engagement or not it FEELS much better. Feels like a proper sports car clutch now. a little more firm, and much easier to shift. just did it today, so havent gotten to see if it will end up making my car implode over time yet.
