I made this without headers. That was done with everything in my signature except I had Invidia test pipes at that time now I have 200cel Invidia HFC's they were the least restrictive I could find. I don't think I lost to much from the swap. I needed to have cats for state inspection. No emissions testing where I am but cats have to be present. I have been pretty happy with my setup.

Good numbers but they look a little high for those mods....possibly a high reading dyno

I thought the same thing and even questioned the tuner and he said its usually the opposite for their Dyno bc its a Dyno Dynamics steady state Dyno just like a Mustang and typically read low. And he said they use the same correction for all the tunes they do. So I trusted him. They were getting my money either way.

Nice! Have you thought about gutting a set of factory cats? Thats what I did on my 350z.

I have my factory cats. At the time I didn't have the means to want to swap them in and out each year bc I just live in an apartment and its a pain to do it yourself especially if the header bolts get seized up. So I figured just going to HFCs would be a good compromise. However now I work at a BMW dealership as a service advisor and have 30 bays and techs at my disposal and I'm thinking of getting test pipes again.

gutted cats didn't rasp. But, you definitely need breathing protection while gutting them. Lots of nasty stuff inside.

Yeah that sh!t is nasty. I did that on my old Talon back in the day. Took a while with a hammer and a giant flat head screw driver. And that was just one straight cat never mind two curved cats. I was at least able to stand it straight up and down and hollow it out.

335whp with stock exhaust manifolds and with HFC's... hmmm, thats a very generous dyno.

You didn't read my post correctly. I now have HFC's but those numbers are with Test pipes. I expect to be making less now with HFC's but that doesn't change what I made. And the Dyno I was on wasn't some cheap a$$ Dyno you may see towed into car shows and probably never maintained or calibrated either. Here's a link to the shop I go to. And do some research on Dyno Dynamics Steady State dynos too and see if you read anything about them being generous.

But either way a Dyno is tool used for tuning and I did my research and supposedly steady state dynos are some of the best bc of all the options it gives the tuner to calculate load with and really give the tuner the best capability to give you a custom tune for not only peak power but for drivability throughout your rpm range. And I feel that's what I got, increased power and a very smooth power curve and the car drives better from it. The number that printed out to me was just a bonus as long as it was higher then what it was originally

Lol, so you don't think I know anything about a dyno or tuning just because I think your numbers are alittle high? Trust me, I know that Dyno Dynamics tend to read low, thats why I'm even more skeptical about your 335WHP...You don't think its odd that you don't even have LTH's or shortys with heat soaked style intakes, yet you have numbers higher than 99% of the members on here? Any dyno can read high. You do know they have to be properly calibrated right?

No need to be defensive. Hey, its a forum, discussions and debates is why we're here right? As long as your Z was tuned properly and you can feel the gains is all that matters

This reminds me of Semtec's car. Made crazy power on a dyno dynamics but after the next tuning session it somehow made the power that it should have made on a dynojet which was much less.

I would really like to see those numbers on a dynojet.

Dynojets are very consistent from one to another. I prefer it because it never lies. I don't think absolute numbers are the best way to show improvement. Showing the delta on the same dyno is much better imo. Regardless of the dyno 335whp is still impressive.
