This does NOT seem right.. Please look..

Hi guys,

I recently had the CSC fail in my Z so I went ahead and decided to swap everything in the clutch system..

I installed:
- Z1 Motorsports Performance Clutch Kit
- Z1 Motorsports Lightweight Flywheel
- ZSpeed HD CSC with its own SS lines and stuff
- New OEM Master Cylinder (it was damaged as well)
- Motul RBF-600 clutch fluid.

I went through the clutch break-in period (I was told 800 miles, actually did around 650 miles before stepping hard on the Z again).

So, everything has been running great for the past 2k-2.5k miles until a couple of days ago I experienced (again) a loss in clutch pedal pressure.. It wasn't a full loss of pressure, probably about 50% no pressure, and then you could feel the pedal to be able to shift gears..

It happened during traffic, no hard driving at all when this happened.. After a short while, pedal feel came back to normal.. I THEN pushed the car hard for a while and everything felt normal..

I stopped to check the fluid level and I took a picture of the clutch fluid reservoir with the fluid because I think it's NOT supposed to look like this.. Fluid should be "cleaner" I believe..??

Should I flush the clutch fluid completely and refill with fresh RBF-600 again..??

I appreciate your comments on this.. Thanks!

Maybe a bubble... Check for leaks and flush. Hopefully the problem will stay gone.

Yes.

I had to do this regularly (about every 6K miles) on my old 2005 350Z and also on my C6. (It's a NOTORIOUS problem on the Vettes)

On the 350Z it was easy to flush out the fluid because it had a bleeder valve. I just had the guys who would do my oil change do it for me. It's not a big deal.

I would check on it at least every 2-3K miles and flush out the fluid before it gets that bad again.

I found this video (it's a Corvette)..

Can this process be replicated for a 370Z..??

Process starts @ 3:50

Yes, it takes me less time to do it than to watch the entire video.

I flush the clutch fluid on my S2000 every other oil change.
