My question is about the Manual Transmission on my car. I have noticed that when shifting from 1st to 2nd its fairly difficult to make that transition smooth with the clutch. I have been trying various amounts of gas and clutch and its a challenge. I recently turned off the traction control and its a little better. 3rd -6th are fine and fairly smooth.
Am I still in the "breaking in process"? Admittedly, I have never owned a new car with a manual transmission. My previous vehicles, a 88 mustang and 2008 Subaru outback XT all had over 40k mileage when I bought them and shifted fine.
Anyone drive most all the time with the traction control off? Pretty annoying shutting it off every time I get in the car.

My gearbox/transmission is the same way. And getting it smooth seems to be easier once the engine is warmed up....
I am replacing my gear oil next week with Amsoil synthetic. Supposedly gear changes are smoother, however that won't help with your complaint about the clutch being difficult to maneuver..
I always drive with traction control off. Yes, shutting it off every time is annoying....along with the a/c compressor every time you turn on the blower..
