Dented Oil Pan
I will try and get picks up here soon but I learned a hard lesson last night. I spent Friday installing the AP racing brakes and after the fronts where done, put the wheels back on, rolled the car back into the garage and was going to hit the rears this morning. I woke up pretty early and decided to get an early start, put the floor jack under the car but didn't it in the right place, jack slipped and crushed my under shroud along with leaving a sizable dent in the oil pan. Its not leaking thankfully but I am not going to risk it. The dent is just behind the drain plug in the middle and close to the bolts. Double checking where the jack is resting is just as important as double checking the jack stands. My new one is being over night'd from nissanraceshop.com.

Here is the pan, the dent is pretty long. I am going to try and knock the dent out tomorrow

Time for a spacer on that pan, ftw!
EDIT: oh, and glad to hear you weren't killed!

I agree. I would just buy an aftermarket pan or buy another OEM pan instead of trying to pound out the dent.

When you remove the pan. Make sure your oil pick-up tube is ok. That it's not bented to one side.

I wasn't under the car when it happened, I was still jacking it up with the floor jack but it still scared the crap out of me! Since I am no longer going to the final SCCA race tomorrow, I will finish the brake install so I can at least be productive with my time. Hopefully the pick up is fine, the new can go on Tuesday and I can get the brakes bled and drive it again weds. Days like this is why I am glad I still have my old Jeep!

The tube is easy to replace. Only 2 bolts are holding it. How much is your pan pushed upward?

Most of the center section. I haven't opened it up yet to see if the tube has been bent. I could do that tomorrow and and that to my order if needed. it may be easier to open up and clean while its light out and not in the evening after work.
