Strange high pitch noise
This past weekend i installed berk test pipes and reassembled my stillen gen 3 CAI after i was done installing the test pipes.
Since the install i have noticed a high pitch noise that occurs with throttle and it occurs while in gear when the rpms fall. After the rpms have fallen for a little while the noise goes away. If i let the rpms slowly fall with the noise occurring, then clutch in, the noise will go away. Hopefully you guys can help me in diagnosing this noise. Thanks in advance. |
Search for "high pitched noise", there's several threads about it. Try to see if you can isolate the location. As you have a 2009, read up on the ECU whine in particular.

I have read up on the ecu high pitch noise, and i dont think thats what is causing the noise. The noise has just now began after installing my berk non-resonated test pipes and I readjusted my stillen gen 3 CAI. I am at 39K miles
Do the berk non-resonated test pipes make a high pitched noise on acceleration or when the rpms fall? Does the stillen gen 3 CAI make a high pitch noise? |
Does the sound come from under the car (near where the test pipes are)? Could you describe it more of a "hiss" than a "high pitched noise"?
|
I cant tell exactly where it is coming from. I will try to listen a little closer the next time i go for a drive. Maybe somewhat of a hiss, sounds more like squeaky brake pads than anything. It isnt really loud but i can definitely hear it if the my music is turned off.
Thanks for the comments, since you are the only one helping lol |
