Default Gas Pedal question.

I want to know if there's a problem with my car, my car seems to go faster if I have my gas pedal down 60% then having it all the way down to the floor.

Have you guys experienced this?

Is this a fueling problem?

P.S. my car is turboed and has less then 5k miles on it.

The car that I notice this in is my Nissan 370z.

So if I understand what you are trying to ask it is this: You press it down 60% pause then apply it 100%? Versus just 100% out of the box? Traction control, transmission slipping is all I can really think of this time of night lol

sorry if i said it wrong i notice it goes faster at 60% throttle and it goes slower if i just had it all the way down at 100%.

Basically have the pedal half way down seems to go faster then having it all the way down.

there is no tire slipping just saying try it on the freeway when your at 55 mph and put pedal all the way down to see the reaction and speed then try again at same speed with the pedal half way down.

Are you still on the factory clutch? What kind of HP numbers are you currently putting down? My TT slips a little on the factory clutch if I floor it in 5th or 6th at 55+ MPH. If I down shift into a lower gear first it isnt as bad.

You said freeway at 55 mph? What Rpms were you at? the engine can only push so much at lower rpms so pressing the gas pedal farther isn't necessarily gonna mean your gonna go faster.

This is wrong. Get it checked out soon. Our pedals are fly by wire so I bet the problem lies here.

This is due to programming. When you floor the gas pedal, the computer is not opening your throttle completely. This is normal and is set that way from the factory for safety. So when you give it 60% throttle, the computer may actually give you the full 60%, hence it may really be faster than giving it 100% all at once because the computer might be holding back the actual throttle plate opening to less than 60%.

What is peculiar is that since you already have twin turbos on the car, that your tuner did not correct this factory throttle delay when they tuned your car. I would ask them if they worked on the throttle settings and if they didn't, I would ask them if they could fix it for you (since they should have done this during the initial tune).

Interesting explanation as I experience the same exact feeling. It feels like it's holding back power around 4k. There are times when boost builds up quick, and other times it ramps up in parallel to engine RPM. It's still on GTM's tune, in which the throttle tables are still stock. It would be nice to be able to make such changes on my own, but I don't have the tuner license.

Well you have an upgrade clutch system DIGI so that throws my slipping clutch idea out the window. I have only driven the boosted Z a couple hundred miles still and not even come close to beating on it. I will have to give this a try next time I get a chance to "drive" it.

Invest in a good tune/tuner and you should see more power and better drivability.

Has anyone tried the APEXi Throttle Control?
