Update on my end. Issue hasn't gotten any better or worse. Maybe I'll try the ECU reset and go from there.

Update on my problems: after initial problem I shut it off let it sit for 30-45 min drove since with no problems. My fingers are crossed.

Nissan mechanic said its possible that a sensor in the transmission tripped and put it in a fail safe mode of sorts since after I shut it down it went back to normal.

Can an ECU reset actually fix the tranny jerk?

It's possible. Not probable, but it's possible. Or maybe the TCM has some "permanent" memory that gets cleared at the same time (I don't know if that's true or not).

More often than not, "resetting the ECM" (pulling a battery cable) is a nothing-else-has-worked-let's-see-what-happens proposition. Doesn't work as often as rebooting a computer will.

i actually had the tuner make changes to my TCM and make my tranny shift harder lol so i guess my "jerk" downshifting is probably harder than all yours
