adjusting the clutch switch to get rid of the transmission notch?
My car currently has 20K miles, I have always had a notch in the transmission going from 1st to 2nd. The only time it went away was when I put in fresh Amsoil fluid, but the notch came back about 3000-4000 miles later, harder than ever. I then made the switch over to redline mt-85, it improved for about 100 miles before the notch came back again. From that point on, I have always driven the car with the transmission notching. Along with the notch, I have noticed more transmission grinding at the autox too. Last night I finally decided to go underneath the dash to see what I can adjust in the clutch area. Upon searching on the forum, I found a DIY on adjusting the clutch switch. I loosen the switch per the instruction and drove the car 250 miles. I don't know if it is my head, but 98% of the notch I was experiencing seems to be gone even though I am not sure how adjusting a clutch switch can help get rid of the notch. Anyone have any thoughts?
