thoughts about a B&M short shifter?!?
hey everyone i dug up all the threads regarding this shifter... and i was wondering since most of them are dated 2009-2010 the most recent... would you guys recommend this shifter to me? im not really in the market to get it cuz i race but instead i just want one so the knob will sit lower  and i drove my friends g37 with a short shifter and it felt amazing.... so i was wondering is there any problems with the b&m i read that you have to file something down? and also you lose the lockout what does that mean?
any input would greatly be appreciated |
I'd like to know about this too. Sub'd.

I have the B&M and love it. you do have to shave a little around where first gear is but otherwise that is it. the lockout they talk about is pushing down on the shifter to go into reverse but I did not experence that. The shifts are quicker and feel so much shorter and it looks great. easy install especially if you have another set of hands from above to hold the boot in place from above while you position it from below.

I had it on my 09 PG Z and loved it, i didn't experence the "lockout" thing either it worked normal. I didn't do the install so i don't know what needs to be done.

There are lots of knobs that are made to sit lower without getting a short shift kit. I was thinking of a kit as well but once I put on my Voodoo knob I didn't want to go any lower.
