NA 370z on e85
well i figured you guys would like to see, JMS racing out of san antonio put the Z on e85 with just stillen gen 3 intakes, amuse y-pipe, amuse r1 titan, and uprev with e85 (stock cats and stock headers)
we were having issues with the rpm reading to get an accurate tq curve but before the spike it would be around 264 ft lb's and made 323 whp. next weekend we should be putting on the long tubes and we will go back and see what happens none the less the car feels geat but I am unaware of what other people see with these mods on 93 octane. please fill free to chime in. On a dynojet I would generally put that setup at around 300 whp, Pushing 323 is impressive with a fuel change. Surprising as I just did a tune and had to take out 3 degrees of timing with 91. Are you running stock injectors?

Thank you, I changed the fuel over to id1000's and changed the fuel pump to a 255, I had a 400 but it was to large for the tank for a simple drop in and would've needed an external regulater going that size.
When we tuned mine in the past it was on 93 and when Jorge tuned it he said it generally didn't like timing and would make more power when backing the timing back out after advancing it. But with the ethanol since it burns so much cooler was able to take more timing without breaking a sweat. Last edited by dirTy_shoeZ; 07-29-2012 at 01:45 PM. |

thats making me think about doing the switch !!
I cant wait to see the result with the long tube header !! (which one ? ) the 308whp STD on a dynojet is pretty much where it should with your current mods a gain of 14-15 whp is quite nice to see ! |

Good stuff Mike. I'm surprised to see the gains on E85, badass.
Just as reference, I only put down 300/256 on 93, same dyno. Jorge had the same issue and pulled back the timing a bit to make power.

In for updates with mods. Would deff do the change if it makes some decent power. Thant and E85 is a good dollar cheaper then Premium over here.

New to the Site
Great to see you guys are using E85
That is one of the reasons I just Joined this site , and to see if should try to teach those Mustangs a lesson , or just leave them alone , there are several in my area ,, I just purchased a 370Z Roadster , Manual 6 speed , I am 53 years old I really think Ethanol cannot hurt my car , Just wondering if I can run it without advancing the timing ? or doing anything ,, Should I try one of those Chips ? thinking about installing those Stillen high flow converters ,, just something simple that will not void the warantee yet only 200 miles on the Black Roadster So Just saying Hi ,, lots more to tell you about the Ethanol ,, just not sure who is here yet ,, Thanks Fred |

Yeah, that's a nice gain. What was it SAE and what was the actual CF used for STD? Can we run E85 with stock fuel pump and injectors? Damn... now I want to retune for E85... although not even sure where to get it in FL...

The injectors will run anyone around 450-750 depending on what u want, I ran ID1000's and the pump is a standard 100 dollar walbro 225. It was nothing more than installing that and putting news new o-ring and hose, then of course u need a tune.
I'd say no to running ethanol on stock pump and injectors. I dont know about the pump itself but definitely not injectors |
