What is this part in my engine??
K guys, quick question! What the hell is this little box on the driver side engine bay that my intake is hooked on to? If you start at the throttle body, it's maybe 6 inches down from there, kinda oblong in shape, with a little arm that connects into the intake? I looked on courtesyparts.com and didn't see anything about it. This is the only picture I can find that actually shows it... it's hooked into section 165 just above the red arrow.
http://www.the370z.com/members/sixpa...5-occ-flow.jpg I ask because the little arm that connects to my intake has broken halfway and is now open, so it's sucking air out of the engine bay instead of where it's supposed to. Any ideas? |
are you talking about the little pcv thing that breaks? it's not this, is it?
Motormite/PCV Valve Elbow (47032) | AutoZone.com not sure if this thread relates to your issue http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-w...pcv-valve.html |
Here a pic of another members broken breather
Is this what you're asking about? this connects to the inside of part# 165 http://www.the370z.com/attachments/i...2-10.13-pm.jpg |
triple's I think thats it! What is that for?
EDIT: Nm, just read the thread, thanks guys! My stillen intakes probably broke it. I'll probably just do the Autozone thing. |
Just on the driver's side is a resonator that hangs below the stock intake tube. It has a short PCV tube (3-4") and is kidney shaped

It's a intake resonator. Really serves no purpose. Just buy aftermarket lines from Z1 and bypass them. Cleans up the bay a little.
