The clutch is definitely not engaging as hard anymore, and it slipped every so slightly when I was in 4th merging onto the highway. Ugh, I hope it isn't the CSC. If it is, it should be covered under warranty correct? The car only has 9k miles on it.

typically clutches are not covered under warranty, just like brake pads and rotors. your mod list puts more strain on the rest of the driveline components, especially the clutch. they could consider your clutch void in a heartbeat. i would suggest getting in contact with the service manager directly and talk to him. tell him what happened, be honest and see what he has to say.

Yep, I have a good reputation there so I hope that'll help me out a bit. I just made an appointment to bring the car in tomorrow and reserved a rental car so they are going to take a look. I guess I'll report back.

Put the stock clutch pedal return spring back in just in case, I hope it's something simple or at a minimum something under warranty. I do have the extended warranty on the car so that might help.

as a former service adviser, i would say to go ahead and contact the service manager directly and let him know the whole story. tell him the truth and he will be more likely to work with you. if a spring inside the clutch assembly did break, that might be considered more of a warranty item than if the clutch surface was worn or broken

Yea I bet it will with the heat exchanger and the cod pulley set up, Not really sure about the impeller tho, May just do the pulleys. Not sure yet, I also just picked up a set of UPREV MAFs from a memeber here.

I agree completely, that's my plan when I bring it in tomorrow AM. I already explained the situation to the service manager, maybe (hopefully) it's something simple like the clutch needing to be bled. Never launched, always use the lease amount of clutch slip possible to start, always rev match, and couldn't take better care of the car.

They also offered me $29,000 to buy the car off me, I didn't try to negotiate up any since I'm not likely selling the Z soon but that was a pretty good first offer.

That's awesome, your car is going to be so sweet! I'll follow your thread for updates.

So after leaving the car at OC Nissan Irvine for a day, they compared it to a used Nismo Z34 they had on the lot and had me drive it. It was just as soft as mine is now, much much easier to drive than mine ever used to be as engagement is much more forgiving. The tech told me he doesn't think there's a problem.

I sat in a few new Zs they had and those clutches felt exactly like mine used to, it was such a dramatic change after that one shift with the initial 'pop'. I decided to drive it and see if anything happens since my friends in the service department told me if I think theres a problem, I tell them what to replace and they will warranty whatever I ask for. So huge thanks goes to the two Johns at OC Nissan Irvine.
