Most typically retard timing 1-1.5 degrees for every 50 hp increase you plan on running (assuming you are running a wet system) with nitrous. That's the only tuning change you would need if you went with nitrous. If you took the bottle out, your car will still run fine, but you'd be leaving a little bit of hp on the table since your timing is retarded with the new tune compared to the stock tune. Maybe 10 hp or so you'd be giving up for a 50 shot and up to 15-20 hp for a 100 shot. Driveability would not be impacted at all.
Like others have said, nitrous is safe if done right. |
