Review: RJM AFP Clutch Pedal System

So after having it in for a week now I can honestly say this is the best mod for the money hands down... Like I keep messing with it here

Like I keep messing with it here and there and I can say that it makes it so you can have exatly what you want!! Im always nervious with clutch mods Ive seen a few cars that have burned up clutches doing stupid things ,but with this if you just do as you are told all will be right!

I hate the 370z clutch even with a helper spring. I think its time to give this a try before I sell this car lol. Quick question I have a poly urethane trans mount. Has anyone had this combo yet? Poly trans and the RJM Clutch any feedback would be awesome.

I have urethane engine, trans and dif mounts. Yes, the car feels different when shifting. It's a little firmer every time you shift. The RJM itself is awesome. My brother's hated driving my car and avoided driving it if possible. Yes, my car is boosted, have lots of this and thats in it and they STILL avoided driving it. They all said, "It's not fun driving it. You have to Work to drive her." After the RJM, they said it's 100x better, "it's like almost a regular car now."

The Poly trans is in the car already and love the shifter now. If the clutch can be a little better then its time to really start thinking about boosting this bad boy.

It's an easy install. I took the seat out. Look it up on the Tube. I also made a link to the vid in page 11.

The install is very easy and getting help won't work. There is only room for one person and sometimes only one hand. Ryan's instructions at great! I'm 62 years old and way overweight. If I can do the job, anyone can. Simple tools are needed, a good light and do some stretching exercises before starting.

I did not remove my seat and still had room to do the job.

Night and day difference with the pedal. I too was about ready to sell my Z because it was hard to drive especially in heavy traffic. Now it is a breeze to drive and the Z is a keeper! Put a FI TDX exhaust on it too and you will have transformed your car into an amazing driving experience.

I just emailed Ryan this question - but wanted to poll the forum as well.

I have the Z1 Clutch/Flywheel package and ZSpeed CSC. My OEM pedal is adjusted for maximum travel and the disengagement point is essentially all the way on the floor. Even still, I get a slight resistance to gear selection after the car is fully warmed up.

I understand the RJM pedal will allow me to configure both the size and location of the engagement window, but will it allow me to increase the stroke over what the OEM pedal can provide?

Hi Jay, just replied to your email with a more detailed response but it sounds like you've currently got a bad master cylinder which isn't allowing complete disengagement of your new clutch setup. Extremely low engagement with your new clutch setup and HD CSC on the OEM pedal setup for max height is not at all normal and indicative of deeper problems in your new setup that should be addressed quickly to avoid harming the synchros.

Yea when my slave went out, I replaced the clutch, flywheel and slave... Master also went bad. Very common with slave is failing.

Thanks a lot for the replies, Ryan.. Excellent customer service (and I'm not even a customer yet!). I sent you a couple more emails =)

Edit: Already in touch with my mechanic (I have no time to work on the car right now =/ ) and he is ordering a new CMC. Going skiing this weekend so I'll have the CMC replaced next week! (Ordered a ZSpeed stainless clutch line to go with it..might as well)

Hopefully that is the issue.
