I have a 7AT and agree with all of the others I love it, and it is my first sports car without a MT.
Now if I were to do it over again I would have purchased a MT because I am to afraid of going FI with the AT and this car just does not have enough power for me. Before people start saying the AT is fine under boost, I know, I personally am not satisfied with what I have seen running boost with it yet. I am following a couple peoples builds with AT's now and it may still be in my future, time will tell.

I have F.I. and HFCs with my 7AT. As far as I know it is not smooth as MT transmission but I still happy with it (a lot).

I think you may have confused my FI, with F.I.? Do you have a forced induction setup or Fast Intentions exhaust?

I have an auto... saving for FI... FTW. the only way turbos are going to get better in the auto is if more people do it and tweak till its right. Tranny and all ghat. If you scared to touch the tranny. Then auto was a bad choice for your FI choice.
You gotta pay to play. |

I bought a 2012 Touring/Sport Package with 6-Speed Manual. I love the car and HATE the manual transmission. It IS clunky and clutch engagement is a nightmare. I absolutely wish I had gotten the 7AT, I would have been so much happier!

The 6 mt is not that bad when you learn how to drive it. Mine clunks more often than not but it's no big deal. From 2-6 gear I don't have any issues. It works great. The 6 mt will probably take more punishment than an at.

Just my point of view.
When I bought my base+sport package car last fall, I didn't really know that much about the differences in options. That said, I'm more than happy with my 6-speed manual. Like I've seen in other posts, if you give yourself some time to get the feel of the motor and such, you'll snicker each and every time you take the car out for a spin. The "sport" option with the manual makes it even more enjoyable.
Also, if I want to change the tranny oil out I can. Pretty sure the 7AT is one of the newer sealed units that uses the new "World" synthetic.... Good luck with whatever you wind up with.. Pat |

I find myself fumbling with things way too much using my would be shifting hand( iPod, stereo, talking with my hands) I have the 7speed and i love it. The auto makes city driving much more manageable, not to mention paddle -shifters when i hit those country back roads!
