Oil cooler leak help needed

I may have to do this fix since I'm having a leak, do you have to drain the oil before taking the oil filter and sandwich plate off?

Ummmm....no need to drain if you can turn over your Z like a turtle on it's shell and then work on it. Otherwise you have to drain it.

No you do not. I have pulled one before and lost about a quart of oil. Just put on a new oil filter. I wouldn't reuse that.
