Shifter Movement

Does anyone else's shifter move a bit when accelerating or decelerating. For instance when I step on it the shifter moves towards the rear of the car. It is almost like there is tranny movement from the engine torque.

See the thread "transmission play"

I'm not sure that we are def talking about the same thing. I read through it though. Only get a small amount of shifter movement on acceleration and decceleration. Could be.

This is a RWD transmission thing, FWD won't show it because the gear stick isn't attached to the gearbox.

Correct. One might see a little movement every time you hit the excel peddle as wel as when you let off; normal.

OK that makes sense... my last manual was a fwd and I didn't feel this.

Thanks guys.

The 370z has really mushy transmission mounts. Ive never felt the movement as exagerated as it feels in the 370z, except on old worn out cars with hundreds of thousands of miles on them.

Other than the shifter I don't notice any play or mushiness in the trans.
