Damn, supposedly they said the checked my brake switch and also changed Mafs, they said car is still same. And basically told me they don't know what to do, so I can come pick the car up.

So the car is still sputtering and the dealer is just giving up? Sounds like a $hitty dealer.

Well mine doesn't sputter like op.

I have no power though, if you drive normal it seems fine. But give it any kind of gas, and it drives like a Sentra.

I doubt low oil would cause this symptom. If it only happens at 40-50mph, I'd suspect a sensor or throttle position hic-up with the automatic transmission. If it's gone away, you'll never find it unless it returns. Till then - zoom zoom zoom!

Oils isn't low, I think they got something wrong when messing with vvel actuator maybe from the last go round. But I did take it back Thurs, and talked to service manager who said they "will do what they need to do to get it right."

Don't let screen name fool you ......3 pedals. :driving:

 Hopefully my car will be fixed tomorrow as far as power loss. They said they think it is ECU because ECU is showing my car is automatic, even though it is a manual. So going on 3rd week hopefully get it back by the weekend.

1slow370 05-14-2014 06:27 PM

someone flashed the wrong rom on your car? shitty

Edit: it isn't possible for a manual ecu to "think its an automatic" unless flashed with the wrong rom, there is an entire chunk of code that would have to mysteriously appear for it to do that, the auto code is not in a manual rom and "turned off" it is missing entirely, or at least thats how it was explained to me.

I'm having this same problem. Was told it was a faulty tps on my passenger side throttle body. Replaced it 2 days ago and bam happened again! Mother**! So pissed off. This has to end. Car drives like a super car one min then traction control light comes on and bam! No power Wtf! Someone please help!

MEZZZER 01-09-2015 01:43 PM

same thing here.:iagree: talked to a nissan master tech and said may be trash on a maf or possibly a faulty brake switch like beginning of this thread mentioned. makes sense to me. gonna get it checked out soon.

juld0zer 01-09-2015 02:09 PM

a member recently had a similar issue. the problem was a defective ABS wheel speed sensor

Business Kat 09-16-2015 03:17 PM

I'm having similar problems that I'm trying to solve. For me, I had a major vacuum leak and that helped a lot. But it still chokes and sputters at times. My car is supercharged though.

I might have the same problem. ANyone know what is the part number for the brake switch?

I believe it is 25320-JN00A

Reading this about the brake switch really surprises me that Nissan doesn't have a redundant switch in the brake switch to verify the brake switch is truly being depressed. The throttle and fuel cut does make sense and others do that too but being a tech for other car lines in the past they usually have multiple contacts within the switch to self check, one car line even uses a potentiometer and they have always had brake switch issues in the past and still do but at least they have test for it and give a brake switch high voltage code (most common). Without having access to Nissan diagram it's just odd they put so
Much faith in one sensor with no verification, bad Nissan. All well still loving my z.
