I have not seen a broken one yet, but I would not hesitate the weld it and rebalance the assembly.

that's great, yeah its about 700-750hp the brazing goes, had 2 or 3 old customers that had it happen at the strip. there used to be a gear shop in Australia that sold a laser welded replacement but it was almost $700 for the one gear/shaft.

I've been getting grinding in 2nd gear and crunchy shifting in 3rd. Do you think a rebuild is a good option for me? This is my DD.

I changed my trans oil and differential oil this weekend to MT-85, still grinding, requires double clutch to shift smoothly.

So I read this whole thread but can't find where I can get a hold of these upgraded synchros? I've had my car for 4 years (been boosted for the last 3 years) and it's always scratched if I shift into 5th or 6th too quickly. I've just been living with it but I'd love to find a solution!

Question. Is our manual tranny the same as in the 350Z?

Hey man. The Transmission has been doing GREAT. Been in just over a year now and number track days on it. Still feels very smooth in and out of gear.

I cannot thank you enough for the rebuild. It's been nice not having to worry about it now.

From what I can tell they are the same inside. Both have the same gear ratios.

Gear ratio
1st 3.794
2nd 2.324
3rd 1.624
4th 1.271
5th 1.000
6th 0.794

It would be nice to know if he has a forged (billet) input shaft for us boosted folks who break them.

Bumping this up.

I have my old transmission apart, lost 5th and 6th. Found the shift fork rod was completely sheared. A few gears were grinding prior. I put a brand new trans from Nissan in however I would like to build my old transmission for high power and reliability as this car is becoming a dedicated competitive drift car.

I have found ZERO information on where to get any upgraded internals available after reading through this entire thread. Some guy from Carver Motorsport or something like that?
