just bought used Nismo, think it has an oil cooler...
I am pretty sure it had one installed already, looking at the front of the car it would be on the lower right hand corner of the radiator, right? I read a lot about this sometimes preventing oil from getting up to operating temp, what exactly is a good temp to consider "operating temperature"? Mine hasn't gone over 170 yet....

Yea 180 is a good temp in general. Wait til summer temps and see how hot it gets. I am sure you wont stay at 170. The '12's come with a factory oil cooler but my oil temps are already in the 200-220 range in daily driving.

Make sure you're not confusing the power steering cooler with an oil cooler. The best / easiest way is to get under the car, pull the black plastic off, and see if you have lines running from the oil filter to anywhere (there will be a metal sandwich between the oil filter and the engine block / filter mount that has hoses coming and going from it).

look where the oil filter is on the bottom of your car. You need to jack it up and follow the outline of the plastic shroud plate. The back 4 bolts that are 10mm you need to take off and fold the plastic back. you will see the oil filter and the two oil hoses. I am 99% sure you don't have the thermostatic plate because of it being the nissan kit. The reason why I know this is becase the hoses are typically wrapped up on top of the oil cooler like the third picture you took, that and the hoses nissan uses are red and blue. No extra steps in doing a oil change, but if you want to swap over then use z1
