OP, the front damper was removed also... Not really a big deal but you may get a slight vibration/noise at higher speeds.

customer previous of you decided to remove it probably because they wanted to track it and wanted more air flow. I have had my cooler for 22k and never emptied the cooler out because it gets mixed with 5qts good oil. It really doesn't matter too much it won't effect the motor in any bad way.

So, where can I get a damper at a good price? And where can I find a thermostatic plate for this particular oil cooler? |

If I am reading right, this thermostatic plate here:
Oil Cooler Thermostatic Sandwich Plate Conversion Kit the actual thermostat is located in the sandwich plate between the filter and where it attaches to the engine, right? Also if I do have the Nissan motorsports cooler, am I going to run into any problems with the hoses themselves not working with the different fittings provided in this kit? |

It also has to-do with where you live too. Since we are both in TX the oil cooler temp is going to get up there for sure. Yeah having the oil cooler at 170-180 would be great, but I really do not care as long as the car is not over heating.
