All this anticipation on the build and dyno results is killing me! Best wishes to you NavyBoy. Takes alot of balls to throw ur car out there as a learning curve. Btw- good move on the valve springs and retainers due to more lift the cams gonna be producing...

It looks like my NST pullies will be in tomorrow which means I will be taking them to Nissan to add to my parts lists that needs to be installed. I have place the order with GTM to have the new valve springs and retainers shipped so after those arrive the motor will be reassembled with the new cams. Just giving an update

Another update: I went to Nissan today and saw the engine pulled out of the car on an engine stand. They will be pulling the heads off in order to change the valve springs and retainers.

I wish Nissan would have designed and made it a little easier to pull out heads to do mods with. Not everyone is gonna be able to afford this mod due to the extensive labor and technicality involved...

That is true this definently not ur standard cam swap like in a Honda or Toyota. Of course this is the first so many people and tuners will learn if there are better ways to perform this cam and valve train swap.

Update: I am shipping my cylinder heads tomorrow to Gtm for a 5 angle valve job and new valve springs and retainers and have my jun cams installed. I should have my heads back on the car in about two to three weeks. My plan just to have the cams installed has gone in a different direction. Since the heads are off I should get all the work done now. The 5 angle valve job should open the heads up even more. It's either GO BIG or GO HOME. Oh yes the heads will be off tomorrow so more pics of the block coming tomorrow.

Might as well get the most out of it while everything is apart. It's going to take longer, but that's what I'd do too.

The cams were just suppose to just be installed but when looking at the cam profile the stock valve springs and retainers might not be able to support the cams. After purchasing the valve train the Nissan dealership has to pull the heads off to swap out the valve train and with them off I called Gtm to actually have the head work done and at the same time reassemble the heads with the new valve train and cams installed with new arp head bolts to. I am sending the heads off today.

I just left the post office and it cost me 383.00 to ship both heads to Ca. The heads are finally shipped to GTM to have the head work done. Here are some pics of the block without the heads.

I am reading a lot of these post about hp and tq numbers. Everyone has their own ideas about what is going to make power. For the cams I must say that you can't just buy the cams and swap them in. They are actually to aggressive for the stock valve train. So if you plan on swapping the cams be prepared to spend some coin on pulling the heads off and swapping the valve train. It's even more expensive for our cars cause the intake girdle has to come off in order to reach the complete head, both dc accucators, all three timing chains and timing gears. This swap is taking awhile for me and as other perform this swap more efficient ways will be performed on the motors. So if you think u can just swap these cams in you better rethink your plan. Check out my thread about my head and cam build John's Sweet NA build

Z1 told me it would be at least 20 hours labor for exhaust cams.
