Based from the manual its normal to burn oil within the break-in period. At 800miles my oil dropped 1/4 from the upper dot level. One thing about this engine it does burn oil if you drive it hard. My guess most sports cars burn oil once pushed hard to the limit. Nothing to worry about if you don't track your Z.

Some of these engines can and do burn oil. I'm not sure if it's valve seals, bad rings, or what the deal is, but it does exist. A nice byproduct is all the disgusting soot that covers the tailpipes after a few hundred miles. |
