South Bend DXD Flywheel VS 18lb Flywheel Videos

Took the time to try a few different flywheels in our 370Z over the last few weeks, The South Bend is definitely the quietest available.
The 18lb unit is VERY loud under 2500 RPM under load and rattles like a worn out diesel at idle.
The South Bend is completely quiet at idle and rattles some under 2500 RPM under load with a rigid disk, It is quieter with a sprung hub clutch and not bad at all compared to the 18lb units which are unbearable to me.

I did this so you guys can make an informed decision on flywheels

Sorry I can't figure out how to get the videos to show up in the post.

18LB AC* (Yes I said 17lb in the video)

I know I'm reviving some oldness here, but I'm very close to purchasing a clutch/flywheel combo and was wondering at 25lbs how does the Southbend DXD rev as compared to the lighter 18lb flywheel. I wasn't a fan of how my JWT lightened flywheel chattered like the first video on my previous 350z but I did like the quick response, which is one thing I can't stand with the stock flywheel when you have to "double rev" to get it moving.

If you PM'd Joe, you'd get a quicker response. You're still going to a lighter flywheel, and it's single-mass. Less annoying chatter but still quick. You're personally going to have to choose between a super lightweight flywheel that's noisy often, or a quieter, slightly heavier steel flywheel. Also note that steel will last longer.

Pretty much said it all ^^^^

The newer South Bend flywheels are now 24 lbs, We took a few more pounds out now but they still remain pretty quiet with a good fluid.

We have been using Motul Gear 300 in our shop cars and it does a great job of keeping things quiet even with the Rigid hub TZR clutch which tends to be a bit louder because there are no springs to dampen out the engine pulses to the trans.

We have the Gear 300 available now on the site, Full Syn, Ester based lube, Good stuff! Gear 300
