That does seem to be the general consensus, however I hear alot of guys runing the 19 row have trouble getting over 160 degrees in colder ambient temps without running block off plate.

Maybe a smaller row cooler would be best for all year around daily drive?

no offense man. but you have mentioned that a few times, but time and time again people tell you that you shouldnt get less than 19 row...

at some point, your either gonna start listening to the advice youve asked for... or not.

but once again!

at minimum get the 19row. no, a smaller one wouldnt be better for all year daily driving.

I like this person! Straight to the point and yes! That's good advice for me! Honestly. We should not worry about cold. But we should worry about how to do it cooler. Because engine need it. There's a lot of way to block the oil cooler. Actually if u live in area cold for the whole year then u don't even bother with the oil cooler. But think about it. Just couple months of cold weather. Actually just a simple block plate and proper warm up will solve the problem.

The real question is, why do you really want a smaller oil cooler?

Is it to save money? That's the only reason I think anyone would have for it. But then again, if you were being frugal, I don't know why you would own a nismo and not a base.

Get the 19. If you get anything smaller I cant wait to read the thread about what larger core to upgrade to coming in the future.

No, money has nothing to do with it. As mentioned earlier several times, I'm worried about too much cooling in the wiinter months with 19 row. Also don't want to configure a block off plate. Just want to install it and forget it.

I will pick up a 19 row and install with my next oil change. Hopefully I dont have overcooling problems like some have mentioned here in the winter months.

Thanks again for input.

Speaking of overcooling, has anyone tried the 200 degree Thermostatic plate to see if it helps during the winter time?

An oil->water cooler of sufficient capacity would be ideal (for lowering and stabilizing temps without overcooling). We've seen a few one-off installs, but no standard kits from anyone. So long as we're sticking with air coolers, there's no way to get a useful amount of air cooling for the hot days without making things too cold on the cold days. You just have to live with a blockoff plate type of solution in the winter.
