How would one remove an Aluminium block off plate w/o cutting holes in the shroud or taking off the bumper? With cardboard or plastic I could easily bend the pieces to get the block off plate in place.

You just pop the plastic buttons on the shroud thats over the radiator... it just lifts out.

You should be able to get to that by removing the plastic tray that is attached to the bottom of the bumper cover. It's the same one that needs to be removed for an oil change.

EDIT: I'd try the one in front of the radiator first.

oh... i don't know how you built yours... looks like its more in the grill of the car..

i just got a thin piece of aluminum and bent a lip to sit on top of the oil cooler... then glued magnets to the cooler and the aluminum... slides right out, and I have 2 sizes... one covers 90% one 50%.

Bumper off, glue velcro stripps to the cooler and blockoff plate (a metal for sale sign) bumper back on and your done.

be a man and take oft the front bumper and install it using z1 install instructions for installing oil cooler, that way you get an accurate measurement on the oil cooler.

haha thats the plan. looks like ill be able to accsess the block off plate either from the under shroud or hood.

how will the velcro will hold upto repeated heat cycling? the magnet idea is better but require a special glue.

you can buy like 10 different kinds of epoxy at home depot good to 500+ degrees.
