Trans issue
I have a 2010 40th 370z with 6400 miles and i am having it seems an issue with the trans. i asked for advice a while back about but didnt get much help. When i shift hard it sounds like a rod is hitting the fire wall, the car wont even chirp its tires. Now other than that it shifts fine. Clutch doesnt slip, shifter goes into all gears fine, no issues other than when i shift hard. i do hear a slight throw out bearing whine now which i didnt use to hear. What could be the issue? Anyway can anybody recommend a good dependable dealer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. A good dealer where as when i get my car back its right the 1st time and doesnt come back with scratches and grease on the seats, you know what i mean.

Mark- If you are in the DFW area I would be more than happy to take a look and see what is going on. Also I have a friend who works only on Zcars that could atleast point you in the right direction. I am assuming you are out of warranty? Unfortunately I have not had a good experience with any of the dealers in the area. Avoid Bankston like the plague. Maybe try Courtesy Nissan off 75.

Yea they are way better from a service standpoint. Really a general rule of thumb I use is if they have a GTR tech and a GTR service bay, I will bring my car there. Bankston Nissan is by far the WORST in the area. I wont even let them touch my car for an oil change.

I live in dallas and i too have a 40th z. when i accelerate hard in first gear, the car seem to "bounce" like it's catching traction and then not. know what's causing this?

Normal T/O bearing sounds in our cars: http://youtu.be/lyVqrksCblU http://youtu.be/Epkum71gjHE This depends more on the specific tech than the dealership. Look for the right tech, not necessarily the dealership as a whole. Last edited by ImportConvert; 03-14-2012 at 11:28 PM. |

It shifts fine, no problems what so ever other than when shifting hard. No clutch slippage, no gears grinding, no noises, no burnt clutch smells. Only when shifting hard do i hear a loud noise like a rod or something hitting the fire wall and the car wont chirp its tires. I have a friend who has a 370z and his will chirp the tires when shifting hard. I guess bottom line i will just have to take to dealer to see what the problem is. I baby the car and hardly drive it but when i get on it i expect it not do this sort of thing.

This can happen to any car. Go get it replaced and forget about it--make sure you find a good tech of course, though! |
