you know its weird because i have a sound coming from my rear passenger panel it sounds like static though but like loud! it doesnt happen all the time and i took it to get looked at and they claimed they fixed it and its still there occasionally

You still have a warranty. Let the dealership worry about it.

A TSB was made for the G37 coupe for clucking sounds coming from the rear of the car. Turned out it was the axle.

me thinks my rear axle is clunking too :(

Wow - that's good to know. People tracking cars will have to keep an eye out.

CBRich 06-04-2009 09:17 AM

Did they have any ideas as to why it went out so quickly? Just a bad part?

black09Z 06-04-2009 03:55 PM

didnt say, ill try and ask the tech when i get it fixed

black09Z 06-07-2009 03:38 AM

ok so, i got my car back today. i got a whole new axle. the service manager said that this is not a problem to expect from all other Z's. he said that sometimes a part just goes bad nd thats what warrantys were created for

imag 06-07-2009 12:53 PM

Unless you have an oil cooler. Then the bad axle is your fault. :shakes head:

um............ why?

CBRich 06-08-2009 11:59 AM

It's kind of an inside joke on Nissan's attitude toward oil coolers. Don't install one and overheat, install one and jeopardize your warranty.

I've been told that the rear differential clunking is mostly due to slow shifting (or bad shifting) or the engine giving more power through the transmission than the tranny can smoothly handle.
