This is basically a crate engine correct? I guess you could re-coup some of the cost by selling your old engine. What's it worth? $5k-$8k maybe. Still baller money.
Gotta tack on core charges then...Another $2500

Considering Nissan released the racecar 370z that has the stock engine and it costs 120k or something, this doesn't seem so bad

This engine plus: roll cage, gut the interior, full suspension/wheels/tire set up, and a few supporting mods would be a serious race car for probably cheaper than nissans.

Ryan if you are doing what I think you are, we need to chat... Are you rewiring the car and going stand alone? We cant seem to figure out the Sikky kit to make compatible with our ECU. It works with a 350z ecu, I am looking into other options, but this is not plug and play If you get some time, please PM me sir.

I've been researching and talking with someone who makes a kit. Yeah, the problem seems to be ECU. They are saying most people go with some sort of AIM kit, but I want to keep it as close to OEM as possible.

Says there's been a lot of work by people piggy backing and even people possibly producing custom harnessing.

I'll keep you updated.

Do you have any detailed schematics for the Z ECU?

The mounts were the easy part. The problem has def been the ECU. Everyone I have talked to asked if I could somehow make a 350z ECU compatible with our cars. If we wanted to Piggy back we would have to go with a 350z setup as that is all they have worked with. I have Uprev and asked if we could find a solution similar to what Sikky did with the 350z so that is what we are working on now.

I have the schematics for the 350z, not the 370z. Do you? I am thinking I will have to go with a stand alone but it isnt currently in my budget so I guess back to the drawing board for now.

It has been done... but its a 'gaining the knowledge' thing... i will probably get on it in the next few months, so I'll make some calls and see what I can gather.

The LSx ECU pinout is everywhere... let me know if you need it.

It looks like BCU pinouts are in the 370 service manual, but it's all spread out so I will try to start compiling that info, but I didn't see a lot of ECU stuff.

Will let you know.

Sounds good. I am thinking mine will be finished probably closer to the beginning/mid june. I have all of the LSx stuff I can handle. LS1tech ftw.
