traction control
Sometimes when I shift at low rpms the vhc kicks on and the car bogs really bad. Obviously this can be fixed by shifting at higher rpms but I was just wondering if this happens to other people and why.
Thanks. |

slick road conditions? I've never seen mine come on that low unless i either did something to cause it or it was cold on smooth pavement. I might also add that at that low of an rpm I have yet to have an issue with 3rd gear spinning except when I'm at the drag strip (but then my rpms aren't that low either).

dry conditions and I'm not gunning it at all. I don't think there is anyway the wheels are slipping. I've had the Z for about 3 weeks. It has happened 4 or 5 times. Weird I figured this would have happened to other people.

perhaps ur releasing the clutch too quickly so the clutch isn't grabbing, and thereby causing spin as if you kicked the clutch.

give it more gas, you are bogging the engine by letting out the clutch pedal too early, or you are trying to use a gear that is too high. Like you are in 2nd or 3rd and you should be in 1st.

1. You need to learn how to drive stick. 2. You are on uneven ground/gravel/etc that is causing VDC to activate. 3. Your car is broken and needs to be fixed. I highly doubt your problem is number 1 if you are not having these problems shifting at higher RPM's. Unless you mean you are shifting at 1500 RPM's, then yes, you are bogging the engine. Get your RPM's up. No idea why that would activate VDC though. Number 2 is easy enough to test and if the problem, easy to rememdy by chosing a different route. So my money is on numer 3, in which case, learn how to replicate the problem with consistency and take it to a dealer. Quote:
Also, I am using the term bogging to mean the engine is basically incapable of making the vehicle accelerate with the gas pedal on the floor. |

So I'm out driving around going home from work (at a red light atm) trying to replicate your problem and for the life of me I am gettin nothing. Tried with synchro-rev on and then off using piss poor shifting and I get neither VDF kicking in nor the bogging problems. I am shifting sub-1500 and sitting on the 1k mark upon completing my shift.
I think it's your car... |
