I been in touch with Circuit Concept from Japan, its their z34 that has been tested with JUN exhaust cams...here's part of their response

Hello again

OK
I understand.

But for confirmation, I would like to explain.

Nissan announces 370Z Japan Model is 340 HP, ver Nismo 355 HP.

We checked on the Bosch Dyno.

Allmost all the 370Z are 305 - 310 HP.

The best quality Header , Cat straight pipe and tail pipe combination gives the car around 350 HP.

With our ECU remapping, 360 HP.

After that, installing the 272 camshaft gives our car around 378 HP.

But I don't know your header nor tail pipe.

Your combination can give your car less HP than 378.

Any question appreciated.

PS We're now making VVEL components.
Our car can get 450 HP during this year.

Regards

Some of there numbers don't add up such as the claimed stock numbers and dyno numbers (pending type of dyno). But either way they claim a gain of 18whp after supporting mods and tune. Not bad at all if that's indeed the case. I'd pay that price for those gains

The VVEL components is what intrigues me most.

the claimed stock numbers might be different for Japanese market. Don't they have different gas/petrol octane ratings giving them more HP and no emissions.

18 whp is not bad, need to finds someone experienced to swap the cams.

they responded more on the VVEL, but as much as it sounds exciting, rather be skeptical about it. On the other hand, these are released by JUN, a respected and proven performance aftermarket tuner.

- Is this using ECU tuning or making mechanical changes to VVEL?

We already analyzed Nissan ECU VVEL mappings.

More than 450 Rear wheel HP, we have to make the VVEL intake camshaft from scratch.

Under 450 HP, mechanical VVEL modification is not required.

- Is this on stock car or with combination of headers, straight pipes or any other modifications?

As you see, the stock header , cat pipe and tail pipe is very bad for big HP.

If you change just EX camshafts, not so effective.

Atleast your emails from Circuit is more comprehensible and detailed than from the emails from Jun.

Install them now and post up your gains! then look into the VVEL tuning.. I guess they are just starting to be able to crack it.

I read in the instruction manual that there are parts once touched or deassembled than they must be changed all together, and to install the cams those parts do need to be opened my question now is what should I do? R Nissan being to couscous about that

You should replace any gasket or seals that you remove when accessing the cam shafts when installing new ones. Sometimes they are reusable but when you're already spending a significant amount of money what's $50-100 to make sure it won't leak when you're done?

No that's a given I already kept that in mind, I'm talking about more serious things like the vvel assembly which alone costs 1000$ pluse and other things

450 whp is almost on par with SOME supercharger/turbo kits. Was VVEL downplayed by some tuners here? I think the profit margin is high with FI kits than VVEL mods.

The numbers given has me thinking they are basing this at the crank. either way, 450 hp at the crank is around 400whp. It's not out of the realm of possibility. With full boltons, including flywheel, these cars are getting close to or right around 400 on the crank. Add these exhaust cams and some VVEL adjustments, this seems within reason (maybe not financially).
