I think you're going to like it ! There is a noticeable rattling noise with the clutch out and car in neutral, but otherwise it's a super upgrade... clutch feels perfect... I highly recommend picking up the adjustable clutch cable to go with it so you can dial in your preferred pedal height... flywheel makes the car a lot more fun

There is a noticeable rattle with the stock clutch under the same conditions, maybe you just didn't hear it before.

It is more noticeable now... not terrible, I think most can live with it even as a street car

This happens when you typically lighten a flywheel or go from a Dual Mass type to a solid one... Less damping ultimately resulting in a little more gear rattle. It's generally the transmission, not the clutch..

Why would the transmission be rotating when in neutral? No gear is actively engaged...

I have the jwt flywheel on my g35. I love the responsiveness, but the noise drives me nuts(and I have full exhaust, headers, test pipes, catback), and it completely killed my torque off idle. This is a mod I would not do again.

?? There's all kinds of stuff rotating in there. Just because a gear is not selected does not mean there aren't a lot gears engaged and turning. Just not connected to the output shaft. Depress your clutch to stop the spin and the noise goes away.

I only have a butt-dyno to go on at this point, but suspect your experience doesn't apply here... I don't feel a torque drop at low end... dyno will tell the full story

Listening to my car supports this statement... press in clutch, very little rattle... release clutch (in neutral), lots of rattle

A lightweight flywheel won't show up on any dyno. It doesn't make any power. It doesn't "free" any power. And the loss of torque is off idle; not many dynos start that low.

You'll notice it in the summer with the a/c on, starting from a light. You'll also notice it in your 60' if you drag race regularly. There's a reason race cars use lightweight flywheels and dragsters use heavy flywheels.

Does it make everyday driving more fun? What's worse? Tire noise or rattle? As long as it doesn't drown out my music (tire roar interferes with this), it may be worth the upgrade.

100% YES. Now when I upshift, the revs drop down quickly to where they should be for the next gear and so I can upshift super fast and hit the right rpm. And downshifting the rush to higher rpm is pretty much instantaneous... it's a thrill! the rattling noise is nothing... how often do you sit there with clutch out in neutral, just idling? that's the only time it is noticeable. At any speed, I hear exhaust, radio, tires, no rattling.

You can always do the flywheel and not the clutch... but I think the clutch is better too... It is plenty soft and has a shorter engagement and the engagement is lower in the pedal stroke, so for me it is easier to get my timing - before I was overreving in up shift b/c the clutch would engage too high in pedal stroke

Thanks! Also, did you change out the clutch fluid or bleed it? I do notice the engagement is quite abrupt unless I change my foot work. Gosh, short shift and clutch/flywheel upgrade is definitely in store. It's just scars from 350Z transmission replacement that gets me worried... on the warranty side of things.
