Those are for a VQ35 and more specifically a VQ35DE motor. (2003-05 350Z's) Won't work with our VQ37.

i guess they give you more adjustability than our stock cam phasers (which do adjust using oil pressure i believe). also, this would probably seriously throw off the VVEL system if i had to guess. i'd be interested to see some "bench testing" of these on a VQ37VHR

VVEL (and IVT) is only on the intake cams.
Our exhaust cams have no adjustability from the factory. These gears are for the exhaust cams, so they would provide some extra tunability that is not possible otherwise. |

you may be tempted until you found out how much work it will take to make a simple adjustment!! i dont think this is a realistic option for the VHR since changing the adjustment to dial it in is more time and labor than its worth for anyone but a full time race team.

i agree with this^ you're talking about a good 6-8 hours of labor to make a small change in timing
pretty sure both cams have cam phasers... the VQ35DE "revup" and the VQ35HR did...

Notice how the intake valve open and close times have a wide range, and the exhaust valve has 0 range? No clue why nissan did it this way, maybe they couldn't make it all fit in there with VVEL + exhaust phasing, maybe they are saving it so they can have more power in the next generation engine, maybe cost, who knows. |

didn't some of the members with FI and headers complain about no power gains because of exhaust cam and VVEL overlaps, these might help in getting back that power.
But here's a thought, aftermarket intake cams already exist for the previous gen VQ's, why not make the VVEL run to the similar the specs of those cams?? |

i looked under cwis' hood yesterday and sure enough, no cam phasers on the exhaust cam. sorry about the confusion. i'm guessing that since the cam phasing is done with oil pressure that along with VVEL, it was too much heat for reliability? not sure on that one. obviously the VVEL system's gains are more important than the limited ability of one cam phaser

Now, will this give back that little boost on the top end? I am not sure, I have not done enough research on VVEL and how the system controls and modulates it control.

FI Headers lean out your A/F pre-tune so people lose power. But after being tuned to that mod, you regain your power back.
