It actually seems to be more than half a quart... that was just my initial estimate... and IMO 1 qt every 4500 on a brand new car is def a big deal... something is burning/leaking if I am loosing oil at that rate.

If you filled the engine up with 5 qt of oil, where should the oil be at on the dip stick? Because mine was about 3mm below the top dot 500 miles after my oil change.

Hard to say... you should be checking it after you fill and warm the engine right when you change the oil.

For multiple reasons some engines, both new & old, will either burn + leak oil or not eat up any oil at all. I was told it's best to stick with one type of oil: synthetic or non-synthetic.

Which way do the lines connect to your oil cooler? You could be getting inconsistent back-flow if the lines are on the side or the bottom of the cooler. Otherwise check all the lines very carefully for leaks, a leak could potentially turn into a failure.

10mm after 1000-1500 miles - See this thread; there's a TSB with a chart:

I am actually going to remove my oil cooler, change the oil and take measurements. I'll want it off before it goes to the dealer anyhow. Both of the lines are on the top of the cooler though so it shouldn't be affecting levels.
