Today I picked up the shorter Gates belt to go with the NST Pulley installation.

I used a 3/8" drive breaker bar and fit a deep well socket over the handle then add a long extension to give more leverage when releasing the tension. Once I get it pulled over center, I add another extention that I wedged against the floor to hold it in the released position.

Now that the tension on the belt is relieved and my hands are both free, I then remove the coolant catch container under the hood so that I have complete access to the belt to remove.

Using the chart shown in a thread above, I routed in the new belt and released the tensioner. With the shorter belt, the tensioner is now putting correct tension on the belt.

Next I reinstalled the coolant catch canister, connected the battery and relearned the power windows.

Now I wait for my CBE, install it and listen to the music play through the pipes and let my butt dyno feel the fruits of my labors.
