Little "click" on the gas pedal
Pardon my ignorance but I've had my 370Z for a few days only...
When pressing the gas pedal, it acts... as a gas pedal. However when I push it very hard there is a little *click* and I can go a little bit further on the pedal itself. Don't know if that is clear for you, sorry. If it is, what is the goal of that little *click*. It's like it would engage super-duper power acceleration :icon17: but I don't notice anything fancy. THanks! |
It was probably the end of the pedal travel as far as the electrical position sensor goes, pushing it further isn't going to do anything useful.
|
Thank you, I think this is actually it since I didn't notice any amazing things happening :-)
BTW, do you have the same thing or is it something not normal? |
Maybe, I didn't really notice :)
|
Mine doesn't do that. Was this a used 370? Because the first thought that came to mind was a NOS trigger =) I doubt that though.
|
No NOS ;-)
Nothing happens when I hit the "limit". |
on some cars that little click at the bottom of the gas pedal (on automatics) will have the car downshift into the lowest gear possible for that given speed
|
Indeed, my mother has that on her automatic VW but my 370 is a manual so that's why I was wondering about this "feature"...

Just tested it on my way to work. No click for me...

Is it maybe just catching on a carpet edge or something near the end of the pedal travel. You feel it catching momentarily as it slips past the obstruction. Crawl under the dash with a flashlight and press the pedal down with your hand to see if you can feel or possibly see what is causing the "click".
