Shifter movement on the throttle

Hi all, new Z owner here and am loving it except for one annoyance: I can feel the shifter move slightly as I get on or let off the throttle.

Exclamation Shifter movement on the throttle

Hi all, new Z owner here and am loving it except for one annoyance: I can feel the shifter move slightly as I get on or let off the throttle. There's also quite a bit of vibration in the shifter overall, even if I'm just sitting idle in neutral.

Now I've read up on clutch "shudder" or "chatter" -- my experience isn't with unexpected sounds or anything, just the vibration and movement of the shifter that I don't think is normal.

Am I off my rocker or should I take it in? I've got a 2011 Touring with a little over 1200 miles on it...

It's normal.

I'd be a little worried if it didn't move. It moves because of the movement of the drivetrain.

Is this your first manual?
The tranny moves with the engine as it torques, happens.

As has already been said, it's normal.

Most high-performance cars use a direct or semi-remote mounted shifter.

On the Z, the shifter bolts to a support structure that mounts directly to the transmission, so you will feel every little vibration coming from the transmission.

Thanks all -- it's actually not my first manual, but... It's been awhile

So, sorry for the noob question -- glad I asked here instead of taking it in and displaying my ignorance in a more public manner
