HKS LE Oil Cap

HKS released a limited edition oil cap for Nissan models.

I was informed by HKS a few weeks ago that they have not test fitted this cap on the 370Z yet. Of course that didn't stop us. One of our clients recently purchased this cap and will be our guinea pig for test fitting.

Normally I don't get all hyped up about products of this size but for some reason, the over all aesthetic appeal really drew me in.

I hope you all like the pics.

I dyno'd this part recently at +42 rwhp, but my charts are still being photoshopped^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H processed.

btw, why doesn't bbcode have a strikethrough tag? ^H is too old-school for most people :)

Its a really nice oil cap I had one for my SR'ed 240sx ... adds a really nice touch under the hood.

Currently there is no news on fitment. Our client is receiving this part sometime next week. Around that time we should find out about fitment.

Is bulletproof and 370ztune the same company?

The oil cap looks good. And last I checked this style is a bit cheaper than the typical $50-60 oil caps out there.

Diversion 05-13-2009 01:39 PM

If an oil cap could be sexy, this HKS one is it.

I'd pick it up for some ooooh's and aaaahh's if the price is fair. Reminds me of when I owned my Prelude.. I bought almost every engine dress-up thing in existance.. sure was a pretty engine.. but still only put down 175 whp =(

Currently we cannot verify its fitment. If you are interested in joining us guinea pigs, please send me a PM and we can work something out.

eXo5 05-13-2009 05:39 PM

Theres websites who claim it will fit all nissans but nothing specific on the 370Z.

eXo5 05-23-2009 11:35 AM

Quick update on this part.

First I must say it looks TINY! When I first put it in my hand I was quickly taken back at the size of it. I took a few pics once I find my transfer cable I will post em up.

I have good news and bad news:

Good - After Inspecting the cap and going to a dealer and looking at the cap on one of the 370Zs at their lot I am fully confedent this will fit the car. I was shocked to see how poor the stock cap looked felt and the fact that it was made out of cheap plastic. Ive found other sources that say it will fit all nissans from 1989 to 2007 of all trims and models.

Bad - Since I dont have a Z yet I am still trying to find a way to put this on one and take some pics. I am desparate. Someone help me out!

Im going to be in baltimore wensday and thursday. Anyone with a little free time from the area???

I have yet to be able to 100% confirm fitment yet. Wouldnt it suck to have 15 people buy this item and then have to refund them all if for some reason I have been mistaken?

I doubt at this point it would be wise...

CBRich 05-24-2009 10:03 PM

I agree completely. Just wondering if it might be a possibility upon confirmation.

miguez 05-24-2009 10:18 PM

I'd be interested in the group buy too, after fitment (and pics to prove!) check.

MC 05-24-2009 10:50 PM

id be down for one too. i think they will fit. the HKS site says ALL NISSAN

fstrnldr 05-25-2009 11:38 AM

it will fit just fine. VHR engine uses the same cap as the older DE from the 350z, and i've seen these caps on several of those. They will get hot and be a &#$%! to remove, but it will fit just fine.

nogoodname 05-25-2009 12:07 PM

i'm sure it will fit...lol

looks nice...

370Ztune 05-28-2009 11:49 AM

If enough people participate I can offer a group buy. :driving:

If you're meaning today and tomorrow, just let me know and I'll meet up with you to truly test fitment. I can PM you with my cell number or something.

If it fits, I'd buy one, especially if we got a group buy rate off the already low price.

Consider fitment proven then! It fits like a glove and looks much better than the tock black plastic. It's solidly built and seats perfectly, there's really nothing at all bad to say about it.
