imho, it's smoke, mirrors, and (the hope) of better performance. Oh, and fancy colored wire. The grounding that Nissan has done is more than adequate for anyone's needs. But, manufacturers have to make money...(?!)
Don't waste your money and effort with this so-called "mod". Use the $100 or so $$ towards something that will show a real gain. *flame away trolls>>>

"Installing a grounding kit is a safe and reliable way of creating a low resistance ground path for your car. The kit provides direct ground paths from battery negative to body, chassis, and specific engine components to give a noticeable improvement in electrical circulation. Reduced electrical 'noise' can improve ECU signals and throttle response resulting in better performance and reduction in flat spots, and many more benefits associated with improved grounding."
Not that I buy any of that. |

If youre into window racing, then this is the mod for you! Had this kit installed on my previous vehicle(05 sentra) and it smoothed out window operation. The way I observed this is usually when you drop or raise your windows at night, you will see the headlights dim for a second or two as you put a load on the battery. This was eliminated after this mod. I would recommend this if youre really straining your battery with electronics such a custom audio system set-up. Never saw any power gains out of this, but then again it was a sentra lol

I got one to dress up the engine bay. They only show real improvements on older cars with corroded wires that no longer ground properly. It may or may not help with the shifting effects on the AT, but it certainly won't make it worst. Installation is pretty easy except for one spot. Pretty straight forward to install with a few hand tools.

The onnly way they can possibly help is if you have a larger 12V+ wire going in than you do a 12V- wire coming out.
If you had a 1/0 cable going to your starter and grounded it with a 16ga wire, there would be a need for a larger ground. If you have a 4ga power and a 4ga ground, then there is no need. Grounding kits are the dumbest thing since Canada. |

I think it does. When you lift on a auto car, it upshifts and keeps RPM low. When you drive spirited in an MT car and you lift, you usually do more engine braking at a higher RPM. I can definitely see where downshifting, and more importantly engine braking, can have an adverse effect on oil consumption.

If you think you'll benefit from a grounding kit, then just buy bulk wire and terminals and do it yourself.
