Default questions before purchasing 370z

im new to this forum so im not entirely sure if im posting this in the right section but it seems appropriate.

Im strongly considering buying a 370z between January and March and i decided to do some proper research before committing to such a large purchase.

Im aware of the minor issues some people have with the car such as blindspots, no heated mirrors, trunk space etc. these things dont really worry me all that much. However, i am concerned with what ive been reading on the transmission issues in terms of the grinding of various gears at both low and high rpms, and the clutch not fully disengaging when shifting into first.

I did read a thread that said there was a possible silent fix to this problem in the late 2010+ models so it should no longer be an issue but nothing official.

How many people have had this problem and has it been resolved? Im sure that many who have had this problem had transmissions replaced under warranty but still get the same problems again.

also this the oil temp issue simply just solved with the addition of an oil cooler? (this issue doesnt bother me as much as the Transmission problem).

this could be a deal breaker for me if it hasnt be addressed properly by nissan.

Oil temp is only a problem if you track the car. I've not had any transmission problems. I believe 2011 and up has the heated mirrors though I'm not sure if you need the tour package for that. I've had no problems with mine.

I wouldn't worry about the transmission on any of the later model years. If you buy a 2012 you will get the car with an oil cooler.

thanks for the speedy responses. keep them coming. I also see that u are the owner of a 2011 mustang gt 6 speed. thats my other option =). However, the styling of the 370z is much more appealing to me which is why its my primary choice

I have absolutely zero issues with my transmission nor with my oil temps. And my mirrors are heated. It's been a great car for me and has met or exceeded my expectationss.

You can't go wrong with either car. Just get whichever one you like the most and enjoy it.

I'm still dying to see a Youtube of a stock 5.0 vs. a stock 370Z roll-on race. Been scouring Youtube for one! I'm betting it's pretty close regardless of the numbers we see bandied about. Link if anyone has it.

heated mirrors available on 2011s and 2012s, I personally have no blind spots because I know how toset up my mirrors properly, and the trunk is actually roomier than it looks from the outside

oil cooler is standard on 2012s, although not everyone with previous years has heating issues (i dont, and i drive my car hard on the highway)

so stop thinking about it and just get one lol

There is more to it than brute speed. I am trading my Z for a Z, when the '12 with NAV becomes available.

they're out there, just rare. my dealership had to go out of state to get one for a customer, because he wanted manual touring/sport/nav

the factory nav is worth it to me, there's something about integrated systems that i love

They said they searched in a 16 state radius. I PM'ed a dealer here on the forum. Maybe I can get this BS cut out and do the deal.

trust me, any Z with Nav is hard to find right now, and i dont honestly know why. whenever one shows up, though, it goes for sticker here lol
