Yeah I stayed posted for Whiteline poly diff bushing, but it doesn't look like it's ever coming out and I need a diff bushing out back bad, SPL it is.

MaDMaXX 10-12-2012 10:19 PM

That stuff you pulled out looks identical to what i hacked out of mine.

I hope whiteline do come out with one for the 370 (does anyone know it's not the same as the 350z?)

Anyway, the whiteline bushes feel great, like a nice solid OEM feel.

Picked up my rear diff w/the 4.36 ring n pinion this past WED. Planning to install on 20 OCT.

I have a custom machined removal tool for the diff bushing; makes it a breeze.

Anybody interested in Delrin or urethane diff bushing, let me know. I'll work on posting pictures of the 2 bushing options. Also have a video showing diff movement with oem and upgraded bushings, what a difference!

Myron_Nismo 12-12-2012 07:00 PM

So are did Whiteline ever come out with bushings for the 370? Are there any aftermarket options??? I will be needing one and don't want to buy the entire subframe from Nissan

vqloven 01-24-2013 01:18 PM

Ok, so sorry to bring up a dead thread. Did anyone figure out which poly bushing fits in 370/g37? I need to fix my popped pimple. :(

vqloven 02-18-2013 04:54 PM

anyone?

nismonster 02-23-2013 05:01 PM

Hey guys, just throwing in my 2c -- I went to Z1 for them to fix an exhaust leak and they found my oem bushing was busted. Fluid everywhere. They replaced the busted bushings with the whiteline bushings for the 350z and I couldn't be happier. I would never want to replace a busted OEM bushing with another OEM bushing -- it would just fail again!

I never have tracked my car, but I do DD it and drive it hard pretty much every day. Just took a quick drive after the install and the rear end feels much more solid -- especially on hard 1-2 shifts.

I noticed earlier in the thread someone said the 350z bushing do not fit 370z. Not sure if this is true, but if you have an experienced, reputable shop such as Z1, the bushings can easily be made to fit. I wish I took a picture of the busted OEM, but you can easily see the whiteline are much better quality.

fuct 02-25-2013 08:44 AM

^^great info!!

DIGItonium 02-25-2013 01:43 PM

Did you replace the two differential bushings up front as well?

A year ago I'm told by Whiteline support that they were still testing the bushings for the 370Z. I'd love to beef things up with the submounts and whatnot with poly bushings one day.

nismonster 02-25-2013 02:03 PM

They were able to install the full kit, so the two bushings up front should have been replaced as well. The car seems much smoother under acceleration overall, and it seems quieter when shifting gears as well (although mine may have been more noisy initially due to the busted oem bushings). There are no vibrations or any negatives that I have encountered so far.

John@Z1 02-25-2013 03:00 PM

Thanks for bringing it in Adam. We are pleased to see that you're enjoying the ride.

esfourteen 02-25-2013 03:22 PM

ordered one myself this morning along with the Z1 transmission mount (already have the motor mounts), need to keep all this torque in check!

DIGItonium 02-25-2013 07:49 PM

Exactly... can't let the torque leak out haha. Any of you guys tightened the axles as well? Mine has bad clunking on the rear driver side, but I plan to get it done when it is time to order new tires.

BTW... any tools required to extract the old mount? Is there much disassembly involved? One of these days I'd like to get it all done at once.

I'd imagine it's as much of a pain as the 350.

esfourteen 02-26-2013 07:46 AM

I removed the diff and subframe mounts on my 240 and the process is the same; kill it with fire and then chisel or cut the sleeve. it's not easy with the subframe in.

DIGItonium 02-26-2013 08:53 AM

Someone created an extraction tool. It looks almost like a hollow cylinder with a long screw and metal washers. I think it is used to squeeze it out. I don't know if we have room to extract it without having to take a bunch of stuff apart.

yep I saw that but I believe its for the 350 and its slightly different size so I don't think that will work.

Zat_Zuma 02-26-2013 10:44 AM

Basically the subframe should be removed to have clearance to remove the rear diff bushing. There isn't enough clearance between the frame, rear differential and body to get a proper tool to remove the bushing. Fire and heat may work to remove the bushing but then it's the problem of getting one back in. :shakes head:

Whiteline bushing is a plastic type bushing with a compression fitting.

http://www.the370z.com/members/zat_z...ushing-kit.jpg

That is for a 350Z and the 370Z bushing is slightly smaller, so a little grinding may be required for it to fit. The front bushings are a direct fit.

The kit I liked for the front is this:

http://www.the370z.com/members/zat_z...bushings-2.jpg

They haven't developed a rear bushing for the 370Z yet (or since the last time I checked) and the one for the 350Z didn't impress me. I left the OEM bushing in place and just replaced the front bushings on the differential. The rear bushing is still in good shape and some stiffing is better than none. The front diff bushings are really soft and seem to have a lot of movement.

We shall see how this setup works when the car is back on the road, this spring.

The ulimate solid, increased VHM bushing for the rear differential are SPL solid metal bushings with no movement. I just wasn't ready for that level yet.

I just received confirmation from John at Z1, that the Whitelines work, and there were no modifications done during install.

esfourteen 03-04-2013 02:13 PM

I had the diff bushings installed, they took a small amount of material off the larger rear bushing for it to fit. With the new diff bushings and the Z1 motor and transmissions mounts the shifting in this car is infinitely better. Theres virtually no wheel hop, and driveline slop is completely gone. 1st to 2nd shifts are the most improved, but overall shifts are much more precise. The only downside is that theres a bit of vibration felt in the cabin now, nothing rattles (yet) but its enough vibration that it would bother some people.

Just to make sure, it's this set, correct?
Whiteline 350Z/G35 Front and Rear Diff Bushings

EDIT: Does the Energy set work? It's like half of the price...

MaDMaXX 03-05-2013 08:28 PM

Not sure if the ES set would work, but i know it's harder and not as 'fancy' as the whiteline bushing.

Energy Suspension Differential Bushing Set

get the whiteline, its hard enough to install that rear bushings without worrying about trying to save the stock sleeve to use with the ES

Yup, thats the one, there are no others.

Ive heard stories if the ES bushings popping out.

vqloven 03-08-2013 03:21 PM

Cool, I went ahead and ordered the Whiteline bushing. I'll have my trusty mechanic install it for me in like 2 weeks.

tranceformer 03-10-2013 09:55 AM

UPDATE

Swapped out the SPL diff bushings for the urethane Whiteline bushings. It's a night & day difference! And I think the Whiteline ones are a bit cheaper too. I wish I knew about these before I installed the SPL ones.

TVPostSound 04-07-2013 01:34 PM

Here's the DIY I wrote for my G37 differential bushing install!!

I had Z1 install the white line rear diff bushing on my z last month. They really are amazing. It was a noticeable difference over stock. The rear feels more planted with smoother shifts over OEM. And my OEM bushing was not busted or leaking. I am very happy I went Whiteline and not Energy Suspension.

Whiteline is no more too =( BUT Energy Suspension front/rear diff bushings for the 350z will fit no problem. Looking at $680-700 with Energy suspension bushings installed

MaDMaXX 09-06-2013 07:19 PM

Eh? Whiteline is no more?

HOLEY BUTT SECKS I need to start charging this when I do it, one car and i could buy those sick new spl upper arms.

Edit: Just so you know this only takes 2 hrs and the bushings are $45.

L33T Z34 09-08-2013 12:14 AM

LOL! I'll Nstall these bushings too for $110 an hour LABOR in the STL area. LOL!:D I know @ ~300 rwhp the rear end will not kick out any w/the SPL rear diff bushings installed(based on my Z)!

Joepro 10-02-2013 08:57 AM

I did mine yesterday with the whiteline kit, has to shave just a tad off the bushing, mine has been popped for awhile, now kicking myself for not doing it earlier in the summer, car feels and drive WAY better, anyone local in the Pittsburgh area I can handle the install for you at a fraction of the price of a normal shop.

Any kind of verification on this?

Joepro 10-02-2013 09:46 AM

It was not the easiest bushing to get out but an angled cutting bit on the air hammer did the job... Cut enough to get the bit between the subframe and the bushing sleeve..kept on hammering through about 3/4 in it popped right out the back. I wasted a lot if time cutting the center out for no reason as well..

1slow370 10-02-2013 10:38 AM

ur welcome on the cutting bit, but yeah don't need to cut out the center unless you're using the energy suspension kit

Their site is still active. Z1 Motorsports is out of stock, which is more accurate. :ugh2:
