VDC off and wheel slip lights on dash....
What does this mean? I understand that it implies a failure of the VDC system and that VDC is no longer active but what causes it? I have had this light come on a couple of times after normal acceleration from an on-ramp and it goes away after the next restart... any ideas?
- note that my stock rears are down to 10% tread and I probably did have some wheel slip but nothing that would have been noticeable or excessive with VDC on.... |
No, the VDC was on and should have handled the situation normally without bringing both lights up on the dash.... and then it disabled VDC until I could restart the car.
|
With the VDC on, I see the wheel slip light ALL the time, especially making right hand turns.
|
I have noticed this as well, seemingly in colder (not freezing, just cooler) weather that the solid VDC light comes on at random and stays on. It is not a result of any traction issues, it just turns on and remains on until the car is shut off and restarted. Been meaning to RTFM and see if there is any info.

Read the VDC warning section 5 in the manual, it appears to be a fairly touchy system that could be affected by several factors causing the indicator to illuminate including rough or banked road surfaces and then things like pads, rotors, suspension, tire, wheels and engine mods that aren't to spec. None of these apply to my car but I can predict the dealer won't bother with it unless the light stays on all the time at every startup.

Ya, I read the manual too but it didn't give any concrete reasons for the light combo to come on...
|
My brake fluid level is low, now both of my lights are on
|
yeah. check the brake fluid. if the fluid falls behind the sensor then both lights come on as a warning and also VDC and probably ABS are inactivated.
|
ABS is fine, no light. As for the brake fluid, I will check that but I doubt that is an issue. I changed the lines and fluid and checked for fluid leaks this spring. But still a possibility. Thnx.

I assumed the flashing is signaling that it would be shutting down power if I had not turned off VDC. It used to startle me, now it just bugs me. |
Yes, I have seen the slip light come on and flash on occasions too, BUT... this is when the VDC is on, and BOTH the VDC off light and the slip light come on solid and remain on until the vehicle is restarted. The manual indicates a VDC error of some sort. I thought it might be a bad sensor or something. dunno

Hi, i have the exact same problem with the VDC off and wheel slip lights on dash.
Every time i shut down and restart the car, all come back normal, but as soon as i drove and do some accelerations both light come back again.... i don't know what is that... i also have the parking brake light that come on and go back every time i accelerate. i have all this in my iPhone video, just tell me how to put it on line and you will see.... very strange |
