Difference of 3.5L bottom end and 3.7L bottom end
Does anyone know if I can buy a 3.5L bottom end and build it? Obviously, they are much more available than the 3.7Ls. I've heard they are the same...but would rather have some experts answer, rather than hearsay.

I just got home from seeing a friend at Infiniti. He reset my VVEL and the noise was gone!!! I back out of the bay and there it was again :( The noise is definitely coming from the top of the motor, so it's not a rod issue. I'm changing the oil now and I'm going back tomorrow to have the VVEL reset again. I may be able to get my hands on a bottom end :stirthepot: Build it slowly over time. |

the block in mike's car at gtm is a vq35hr block with gtm internals the 370 internals should fit but the stroke is different

the 370 engine block is identical (from what i've heard) to the 07+ 350z/G35 engines, the VQ35HR. it's also the same as the VQ40 in my truck, though i don't have the dual intake. non-VVEL HR heads should work on your motor with no issues, may have to use a different timing chain

k believe the vq40 had a different deck height and thought there were other changes as well?

from what i've seen (there's only been a few apart that have been posted on the forums) they look identical. i don't know the actual specs from nissan tho
