why does my car bog at lower rpms?
its bogs at about 3,500rpms the car has about 1,150miles on it. I was driving home and I stopped at a red light when it went green I put the car in 1st and drove it till 3,500revs at that point the car bogged and loss power. The car behind me almost hit me, I then shifted to 2nd gear and reached 3,500revs and it bogged again. I pulled over and turned off the car waited for 2 min and turned it back on and then it ran fine. Can someone tell me whats wrong and what to do about the situation?

does the car have a tune of any kind? Any mods? What octane gas are you running? Did you change your oil yet from the break in period? A little more information may help dignose the problem.

With what you have said it could be a number of things, the best advice I can give you since it is so new take it back to the dealer and let them put it on the machine and see if the computer is trying to compensate for something, ie knock by retarting the timing etc. it could be something as simple as the car thinks it is smarter than it needs to be or that it being a new car something has clogged something like the injectors etc. At this point let the dealership deal with the problem and do not let them away with saying they cannot find a problem.
good Luck

What were your oil temps when this happened? Were you driving the car hard before it happened? Sounds like it might have been limp mode.

I was having these issues too. Last week I got a 15000 mile check up at Nissan and it hasn't happened since. Now the outside temp has dropped below 100 degrees here for the first time of a few days.

The 3500 stall is documented. It has happened to several low mileage cars, acts a lot like limp mode. When taken to the dealer they usually find nothing but for whatever reason the problem doesn't typically reoccur. I'm guessing it is an ECU bug.

My car did the same thing randomly for a while. I also got a mild stall around 1500 rpms if I moved from light throttle to heavy. Dealer was not able to do anything for me, but it happened pretty infrequently.

That's a different issue, typically a tuning issue. The issue he is talking about is that the car is held to a 3500 rpm max, it even happened to AK once.

No, I had both issues. They would typically both happen around the same time...they'd both be really bad for a day or two, then not crop up for another month.

I wouldn't worry about a one time occurance... I've seen minor flukes in other cars where you restart and it runs fine. If it happens frequently I'd then worry.

I don't know how California laws are but document it with the dealer everytime it happens. I know in TX if a probablem recurres 3 times and can't be fixxed it can be lemon lawed and you get your money back or a new car.
