Question about 7AT
Should have bought a 6MT i know but dealer didn't have one and i didn't won't to wait. so anyway is there any difference in the way the AT shifts
or responds if you use the paddles or the stick. are does it matter either way. |
The 7 A/T is quicker at shifts, but if it were my car I would still want to feel "attached" to the car, meaning always using a stick shift, I feel you're more engaged, it's a great gear box, and quick when I test drove, but I still have more fun with the manual.
Stick with the manual and have fun snchro rev matchin it ;) |
umm I actually never use paddle shifter LOL i always use the stick to + and - it. it just feel better using stick to me :)
|
Most of time use stick. But there are times I perfer paddles.
|
I use the paddles most of the time. In stop and go traffic on the highway, I use "D". :)
|
i havent noticed a difference in the speed of shifts between the paddles and the stick. I dont use the stick anymore.
i used it for a while and once I was in auto and went to upshift with the stick and instead ended up in nuetral. Paddles for me from now on. |
I find the AT is better than I am :) the paddles are fun to play with though..
|
I switched from a 5 speed to the 7AT when I bought my Z. I use the paddles from time to time.
|
I roll around in D most of the time. Spirited driving I use the shifter mostly (since I've always driven manual it's more comfortable). If I'm trying to work on my driving lines I use the paddles.
|
I almost always use the paddles but I haven't noticed a speed difference. About the only time I use the stick is if my hands are going to be out of position due to turning, if I remember. Plus the I'm tryin to use the paddles more in D instead of M, but it holds the gear a little too long for me mos of the time.

I think the paddles shift faster.
