Help, throttle override by the ECU (not due to riding the brakes)

The voltage drop across a diode is typically 0.6V, shouldn't be enough to bother anything, especially since it will only be effecting the trailer. Just did a search on digikey.com

Just did a search on digikey.com and 15A 200V diode are $0.89 each. You would need 4.

Why 4? Shouldn't I only need one at the connection to the left and right turn signal at the trailer light box, total of 2?

I think I found some http://www.roadmasterinc.com/img/diode.png

No you need one for each signal feeding each light for each side, because you have 2 signals going to each wire (turn and brake) they each need to be isolated. Two lamps makes it 4 total.

In the case of the ones you found above it is basically 2 diodes in 1 so you would only need two of those. Also looks like they are setup for easy spade connections where as the general purpose ones I found would require soldering.

so why didn't the dealer do an alignment after the tank drop? Seems like that should be part of the procedure.

Glad you got the other stuff figured out though!
