Default Light engine pinging/knock

I live in Vegas, where you all know its real hot all summer long. Anyway I have noticed under light accel, when I have driven for a while and I'm sure the engine and engine bay are red hot, a little pinging. I am at 12000 miles and I use Shell super and use Seafoam every oil change in the tank. Nothing should be dirty. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am thinking from the extreme heat some predetination? Under hard accel its fine though!

Most likely it's just normal valvetrain noise rather than true knock, but who knows without hearing. Also, if I were you I wouldn't be putting Seafoam (or anything else) into your gas with any regularity. Just use a quality gasoline like Chevron (or if you have crappier gas, maybe once in a blue moon run a bottle of Techron through).

I don't use it EVERY all change, more like here an there. Anyway, I used chevron this last fill up and I don't like the way the car runs. Feels better with shell. I'm sure its from the extreme temps under the hold, was just lookin to see if anyone else has had this. And this is definitely a ping, not valve train noise

Did you did an "Uprev" E.C.U. reflash.?I did mine,at first, the tuner put it too lean[12.5:1],i also felt engine no power & noisy, put it back to [11.0:1],everything go fine again, the weather in S'pore is all time warm.
